Angular is chosen less often than React for new consumer products, but it remains the standard in large business applications: banking systems, insurance platforms and corporate internal tools. Where an enforced project structure and long-term maintenance matter, Angular often wins. That is why the question of what an Angular developer costs comes mostly from companies with large systems that must be developed for years. Below we set out 2026 rates from three perspectives: the provider, the specialist and the employer. Amounts are in Polish złoty; euro values use 4.30 PLN per EUR.

What does an Angular developer cost through staff augmentation in 2026?

The rates come from our body leasing rate benchmark for 2026, where Angular falls under Frontend Developer (React, Angular, Vue). They are net rates (excluding VAT) paid to the provider per hour of the specialist’s work. A day is 8 hours.

LevelPLN per hourPLN per dayEUR per day
Junior85–120680–960160–225
Mid120–170960–1,360225–315
Senior170–2401,360–1,920315–445
Lead / principal240–3201,920–2,560445–595

The rate covers the specialist’s pay, recruitment and vetting, a replacement guarantee, contract administration and the provider’s margin. The client pays only for hours worked. Ranges for every role are on our pricing page.

In Angular projects, the spread within a level often reflects experience with scale: a senior who has maintained an application with hundreds of modules and several teams is worth more than a senior who has built individual admin panels.

What does an Angular developer earn on B2B and on an employment contract?

The most complete data on frontend developer earnings in Poland is Bulldogjob’s IT Community Survey 2025 (data collected in January and February 2025). The survey does not single out Angular, but it groups frontend developers by main language. Angular is written in TypeScript and requires it, so the closest group is developers working mainly in TypeScript. Employment contract amounts are net take-home pay; B2B amounts are net on the invoice.

LevelEmployment — average (take-home)B2B — average (net on invoice)
JuniorPLN 5,508PLN 7,811
MidPLN 8,755PLN 15,166
SeniorPLN 12,976PLN 23,442

The same survey shows where Angular is used. Among developers whose main language is JavaScript, 58.6% named React and 16.7% Angular. Angular appears more often among C# developers (18.5%) and Java developers (14.2%) — enterprise environments where the frontend is built alongside a .NET or Spring backend.

An average of PLN 23,442 on a senior’s B2B invoice is about PLN 146 per hour over roughly 160 hours a month, before social security and income tax.

Why does the provider’s rate differ from what the specialist earns?

A senior frontend developer earns about PLN 146 per hour on B2B on average, while a staff augmentation client pays PLN 170–240. The difference covers recruitment, a replacement guarantee, contract administration, the risk of gaps between projects and the provider’s margin.

Employment also costs more than the salary shows. An employer in Poland pays contributions (about 21–22% of gross pay including the PPK pension plan), workplace and recruitment costs, and pay for holidays and sickness. We ran the full calculation in our article on total employer cost in Poland in 2026, and the specialist’s perspective is covered in our B2B vs employment net pay comparison.

So compare a provider’s rate with the full cost of a productive hour of an employee, not with gross salary or a contractor’s invoice. In the example from our employer cost article, a productive hour of a senior employee on PLN 22,000 gross cost PLN 218.88 — after contributions, workplace costs, amortised recruitment and time the company pays for that is not work. That figure sits inside the senior staff augmentation range, which shows that the gap between models is smaller than comparing a salary with an invoice suggests.

What raises an Angular developer’s rate?

Specific skills decide where a specialist sits in the range. In the projects we run, these come up most often:

  • RxJS and reactive programming. Angular is built on data streams, and mistakes in handling them are a major source of performance problems and memory leaks.
  • NgRx and state management. In large applications with complex state, the ability to design the store saves months of fixes.
  • Migrations. Upgrades between Angular versions and migrations from AngularJS, whose support ended in December 2021, require experience that cannot be gained quickly.
  • A modern approach to the framework. Standalone components and signals change how applications are built, and teams need people who can lead them through that shift.
  • Domain experience. Banking and insurance, where Angular is especially popular, require knowledge of processes and regulation.

On-site work in a large city usually raises the rate by 10–15%, and contracts shorter than 3 months by 15–25%.

How does a Polish Angular developer compare with the German market?

According to Freelancer-Kompass 2025 (freelancermap), the average German IT freelancer charges EUR 95 per hour, or about EUR 760 per day. A senior Angular developer from Poland through staff augmentation costs EUR 315–445 per day — roughly 41–59% less. At lead level the gap narrows to about 22–41%.

This compares a provider’s rate with a freelancer hired directly, without an intermediary’s costs. For the UK, IT Jobs Watch reported a median senior developer contract rate of GBP 525 per day in the six months to 16 January 2026.

How do you check that a rate matches the candidate’s level?

“Senior” means different things at different providers. Before accepting a rate, check:

  • Understanding of change detection. A senior should be able to explain when and why a component re-renders, and how to control it.
  • Handling RxJS streams in real code. A short review of an application fragment quickly shows whether the candidate spots unclosed subscriptions and redundant requests.
  • Experience at a similar scale. Ask about the number of modules, teams and years of maintenance of the application they worked on.
  • Project references. The provider should be able to say where and for how long the specialist worked.

If a candidate priced as a senior struggles with these questions, discussing a mid-level rate is justified.

When does staff augmentation of an Angular developer pay off?

Staff augmentation works well for time-limited tasks — version migrations, state management refactoring, speeding up development before a release — and when the market does not quickly yield a senior with enterprise experience. In the example from our total employer cost article, the break-even point against a direct B2B contract is about 9 months.

A typical scenario: a bank maintains a dozen applications on an older Angular version, and the permanent team is busy building new features with no room for a migration. Two seniors experienced in framework upgrades, added for 6–9 months, carry out the migration, write guidelines and train the team. When the project ends, the client has no notice costs and no people without work. Hiring them as employees would usually mean months of recruitment and finding new work for them after the migration.

For a stable role lasting years, direct hiring is usually cheaper — provided recruitment succeeds and the specialist stays. A middle ground is the Try & Hire model, in which the specialist can join the client as an employee after a period of cooperation.
